The persian cat is known for its love of becoming a doormat. They are very laid back and don’t really like to run around and spazz out as such breeds as TAbbys( and many short haired varieties actually). But again, its all speculation..any cat that has a relaxed personality as a kitten usually will be that way through adulthood( I have a tabby/ domestic longhaired mix who is very laidback). I’d say go to your local shelter and save a lil kitty that needs you!( it is also cheaper and they help pay for the neutering…very nice!)
the more chilled sex, a male I think…but usually they are more laidback after neutered( un-neutered males have all that pent up sexual frustration, same with females…but from my experience males are more cuddly and loving.)

in my experience, tabby cats are always so laid back, lazy and major lap cats. but my fiance’s russian blue is a serious lap cat, as well. and its a female.

A desexed cat is almost always more relaxed than an intact one. I’ve found persians to be very laid back, however, they do need daily brushing.

Ragdolls, Ragamuffins and Persians. Persians are especially less high strung. My dog can run barking through the room to the front door and my Percy will just look up like "What’s his problem?" :) I have a Ragamuffin as well and she loves to be held and even purrssssss like crazy when she’s being judged at shows.

Adult shelter cats of ANY breed seem to be the most relaxed. I’ve met lots of cats working adoption events for the shelter and most of the adult cats are very friendly and laid back – whether their purebred or no particular breed.

Persians are very relaxed cats. I don’t think it matters male or female. Its been about 50-50 in my experience.

I work at a kennel, and we have a lot of cat boarders. In my experience, tabby cats are always the most friendly to strangers and don’t hiss a lot. Also, male is always the most friendliest. Just make sure to get him fixed, or he will be a hand full.
