What breed of cat has blue eyes?
June 20th, 2010
I was wondering what breed(s) of cats have blue eyes? I know ragdoll is one, are there others if you know this please let me know all of them. I recently took in a kitten that i believe to be around 9 months old…She’s all white with a bit of very light gray on her head and all white w/ pale blue eyes. I plan to keep her if noone responds to the ad’s i’ve posted about finding her so I’m just wondering what breed she could possibly be. thanks.

Eye colour is linked to coat colour – not breed. Cats with pointed markings have blue eyes and so can solid white cats.
If you don’t have papers for this kitten then it’s unlikely it’s any breed. It’s just a domestic cat with pointed markings.
I’m hoping your ad didn’t describe the cat. If you did then you stand a REALLY good chance of someone claiming her that isn’t really her owner. Your ad should just say found female cat, where she was found and call to describe.
Have you brought her up to a vet to see if she’s microchipped? Vets have scanners – so do all shelters.
i’m not sure but you could try this website it has all the cat breeds and their desciption, so it should help

She’s possibly a birman?
siamese
Your cat is not likely of any specific breed- after all, she did not come to you with papers or a pedigree and she did not come to you from a breeder.
Many cats just have blue eyes. It doesn’t make them any specific breed.
She sounds like a young Siamese cat or a Siamese mix. Siamese are famous for their pretty blue eyes. Lilac point Siamese have very faint grey markings on their ears and tops of their heads when young. Most Siamese are born white, then develop the markings as they get older (like dalmation pups do).
But any cat can have blue eyes, and not necessarily be pure bred either.
Many breeds of cats can have blue eyes, but so can randomly bred domestic short hair cats (cats of no breed). Breeds with blue eyes would include Siamese, some colors of Bengals, Himalayans, Ragdolls, and some colors of Oriental Short Hairs. Your cat is probably the domestic short hair variety, and there is nothing wrong with that!
Many all white cats have blue eyes. The blue eyed ones are often also deaf, so be aware of this. You can test by clicking your fingernails in front of her ears when she’s resting. If she can hear you she will move her ear in response.
If she is 9 months old and has white tail, legs and face she is not a siamese or a birman. . You don’t mention coat length or face shape – both these vary with the breed, but she’s probably an ordinary (but beautiful!) puss rather than a pure bred.
Many breeds come in the color white and either have 2 blue eyes, 2 gold eyes, or one of each color.
Pointed cats (like Raggys or Siamese) always have blue eye color.
Whether mixed breed or purebred, its not hard to find a blue-eyed white cat.
