Ragdoll Kittens Training 3.5 Weeks Old

April 28th, 2010

Starting litter, wet & dry food, and water training in small bathroom with baby gate for two older 3.5 week kittens. The younger ones are ~2 weeks old & won’t start their training for another week. They are just learning to use their rear legs for locomotion. Mom will teach them everything.

I’ve had cats for 45 years. My indoor Ragdolls are quite happy with cat trees, racing the stairs and napping where it’s warm or cool in hot summers. They avoid all the diseases from contact with other cats–especially feral. I lost 4 cats to feline leukemia in the 80s because they got it from other outdoor cats.

You may not know that cats sleep 21 hrs. a day. They also don’t just sit around at windows but race around the house, climb cat trees, play with toys, and avoid outside dangers–plus they don’t have fleas or heartworm.

They’re in the bathroom for 4 days when they start their litter training. Obviously, if there’s an accident, it’s easier to clean tile.

I had the flu and my voice was in bad shape. I talk softly so I won’t scare the kittens when I’m videoing.

Why did you put they’re food, bed and litter tray in the toilet?

@thematty29 It takes 3-4 days to train them to use a litter box & eat. it’s very messy (the food part). So, they’re in a place where they can’t hurt themselves for a short time. Then they get to go into a large room with cat trees, etc.
