Can ragdoll cats have yellow eyes or our their eyes always blue?

July 17th, 2010

I adopted a stray that seems to have all the characteristics and behaviors of a ragdoll cat, but my cat has yellow eyes. Can he be a ragdoll? Any info thanks, from a fellow cat lover.

i think that ragdolls can have yellow eyes, although it is rare because i usually see them with blue eyes. he could also be mostly ragdoll, with a little bit of another breed mixed in, and that’s where the yellow eyes came from. but, yes, he could and mostly likely is a ragdoll.

ragdolls were originally bred from a pair of docile street cats. i’m sure they can have yellow eyes, just like white cats can have yellow, blue, one of each…there are always exceptions in the animal world. i think if you want to show the cat, though, it needs to have the blue eyes.
